Microsoft is changing how it shares information on new releases, updates, and product capabilities.
Starting in September 2026, customers will find out the latest updates through the AI at Work roadmap.
Microsoft will publish new product capabilities and plans to the roadmap as soon as they are ready to share. Instead of receiving update information twice a year in release waves as has always been done in the past, you can access the latest and most current product plans and progress at any time through the AI at Work roadmap.
You can follow each roadmap item as it progresses from development to launch, with status and rollout information updated as plans evolve. Capabilities will appear on the roadmap earlier than they used to appear through the wave calendar.
Why this change? Very few businesses operate Microsoft products in isolation from one another. Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Microsoft 365 and more are increasingly integrated, fueling more efficient business processes, integrating your data, and improving your productivity. Now with this content under one roof in one place, you and your team can see what’s upcoming and ahead in one view, customized to the Mi.

While this transition changes how Microsoft communicates upcoming innovations, it does not change how products are built, released, or deployed.
How your organization can prepare for the transition
Explore the AI at Work roadmap. Review the roadmap and establish filters for the products and cloud environments your organization uses.
Subscribe to RSS updates. The AI at Work roadmap guide shares how you can use RSS to follow filtered roadmap views.
Update your planning references. If your organization relies on release plan links, bookmarks, or internal documentation, update those references to point to the AI at Work roadmap.
Set your own review rhythm. Release wave 1 and release wave 2 gave organizations a moment twice a year to gather your teams together and plan for what’s ahead. Now you can establish a recurring review, whether it is monthly or quarterly, whatever is most convenient for you.
